Steps and progress from the project!
As the second year of the MAXIMA project draws to a close, we are excited to reflect on the strides we have made toward our ambitious goal: developing an affordable, adaptable, and environmentally sustainable axial flux electric machine for the automotive industry. Through innovative design strategies and interdisciplinary collaboration, we aim to deliver a high-performance machine that reduces dependency on critical rare earth metals and minimizes environmental impact across its entire life cycle.
Design, circularity, impact!
2025 has been a milestone year for MAXIMA, with major progress on sustainable, high‑performance axial‑flux electric motors, new outreach activities, and fresh tools to make eco‑design more accessible. This newsletter looks back at our mid‑term conference, the EWWR 2025 campaign on electric motor circularity, the launch of the MAXIMA LCA tool and game, our contributions to EMMSO 2026, and new scientific publications showcasing MAXIMA’s role in Europe’s e‑mobility research landscape.
