MAXIMA

We are excited to announce that the MAXIMA project will be participating in the upcoming European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025, taking place from June 10 to 12 in Brussels and online.

MAXIMA will be featured at the Energy Fair, sharing the stand (C-5) titled «Powering a Green Europe: EU Projects in Action» alongside several other innovative EU-funded projects. Our partner, FEUGA, responsible for communication and dissemination, will be presenting the MAXIMA project at the event.

The stand will showcase the following projects: CONFESS, MiniStor, SteamDry, ECOLOOP, EBENTO, ECLIPSE, and R2D2. This collective exhibition aims to highlight the collaborative efforts driving Europe’s transition to a fair and competitive green energy future.

In particular, the MAXIMA project will be on the stand C-5 on June 11 and 12 and will focus on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), providing visitors with a comprehensive look at the project’s work in this crucial area. MAXIMA has developed the MAXIMA Life Cycle Assessment Support Tool for the Ecodesign of the MAXIMA eMotor. This tool, developed by the VUB team within the MAXIMA project, supports the sustainable design of the MAXIMA eMotor by enabling users to assess the environmental impacts across the full life cycle—from raw material extraction to real-world operation on the road.

The platform is structured around three key modules: Materials Inventory, Use Phase Simulation, and Design Parameters. The Materials Inventory allows users to define the materials used in the eMotor, while the Use Phase Simulation models the motor’s impact during operation, including real driving conditions and the choice of electricity mix. The Design Parameters module enables iterative design evaluation, allowing users to analyze how design changes affect environmental performance, making it a valuable tool for ecodesign decision-making.
