MAXIMA

MAXIMA will convene its M36 consortium meeting together with the project’s 2nd Review on 3–4 March 2026 at OCAS in Ghent (Belgium). Over two days, partners will present M36 progress across all work packages, align on next steps, and take part in the formal review exchange with the European Commission.

Hosted by OCAS

The meeting is hosted by OCAS (OnderzoeksCentrum voor de Aanwending van Staal), a market-oriented research centre providing steel and metal-based products, services and solutions to metal processing companies worldwide. In the context of e-mobility materials, OCAS is presented as ArcelorMittal’s R&D centre for electrical steel product development, bringing expertise in electrical steel development, characterisation and modelling relevant to future e-motors.

What’s on the agenda

The agenda features work package updates covering project management (WP1)electrical machine design (WP3), the digital twin for optimal control (WP4)materials and manufacturing/recycling processes for mass production (WP5)life cycle management (WP6)prototype assembly and testing (WP7), and communication, dissemination and exploitation (WP8), including a social media workshop. The programme also includes a dedicated Q&A session with the Project Officer/European Commission to gather feedback and address review questions.

As MAXIMA moves into its final phase, with the project scheduled to conclude in January 2027, this meeting will be an important milestone to consolidate results, confirm the remaining priorities, and ensure a strong finish.
