The MAXIMA project will take the stage at the 38th SIA Powertrain Conference, held on June 17–18, 2026 at Lille Grand Palais, Lille, France.
The MAXIMA contribution will be featured in the dedicated session on «Electric Propulsion Systems – Digital Twin and Method» (chaired by Olivier COPPIN, Alpine), on June 17th at 12:00 . Under the title:
«Digital Twins as Enablers of Sustainable, High-Performance EV Propulsion and Electronics: Insights from EU 2ZERO Projects»
The presentation will be delivered by Daniel Montesinos-Miracle (Technical University of Catalonia), on behalf of the MAXIMA consortium and fellow 2ZERO sister projects CliMAFlux, HEFT, HiPE, and VOLTCAR.
The talk will cover how the MAXIMA digital twin, a real-time, multi-physics replica combining electromagnetic, thermal, and mechanical models, supports a targeted 2% energy reduction in axial-flux motor operation, while enabling predictive thermal management and advanced motor control strategies. The presentation will also share convergent best practices identified across EU-funded projects, including hybrid physics-AI modeling, FMU/FMI-based integration, and embedded deployment on automotive-grade hardware .
SIA Powertrain is one of Europe’s leading conferences covering the full spectrum of drivetrain technologies, from urban light mobility to long-range commercial vehicles, with a strong focus on electrification, power electronics, and sustainability .
